While she was still in high school, Material Girls owner Whitney Giordano decided she wanted to open her own women's boutique, and her college career was focused on fulfilling that goal. Whitney was clear in her vision to bring the most current trends to the Jackson market. She opened Material Girls in Dogwood Promenade in Flowood, MS when she was six months away from college graduation. The store was an instant success, leading Whitney to open a second location in Renaissance at Colony Park in 2008. As the economy began it's comeback mid-2010, Whitney saw the opportunity to grow yet again. Her eyes were set on a college town this time! Within one month from selecting Oxford as the third location, she signed the lease, and opened her doors for business on September 1, 2010. Almost exactly a year later in late September 2011, Whitney decided it was time to grow Material Girls to a city where her heart had always been, Hattiesburg, MS. Whitney's parents attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and her and her brother, Skipper, followed in their steps years later. Needless to say, it was the next natural step for Material Girls to take. Three weeks after finding our spot in the Turtle Creek Crossing mall, the fourth location of Material Girls opened for business! Equipped with four store locations and our online store, Material Girls is blessed to have the opportunity to grow as we have, and we can't wait to see what's next!
